Meet the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Leadership

President

Bobby Nefzger ’14

I graduated from USNA in 2014 with a degree in Economics and served five years as a Supply Corps Officer. While active duty, I deployed with the USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) and was stationed in Busan, South Korea. I’m currently working in Enterprise Sales with Dealpath, a software company servicing the Commercial Real Estate & Private Equity industries. I live in the heart of San Francisco and enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer.

Gordo McDonald ’06

Originally from Mendocino County, I graduated from USNA in 2006 (“Aught Six, Sir!”). At the Academy, I studied mathematics and was a proud member of the 14th company.  I served for 11 years as a helicopter pilot flying the SH-60B and MH-60R in HSL-49, HSM-41, and as a plank owner of HSM-79. Currently, I reside in Sonoma County (Santa Rosa) with my wife and two boys. I work remotely in the enterprise software industry in a Sales Strategy & Operations role.

My job as Chapter Vice President is to support the President in making their vision a reality. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Beat Army!

Secretary: Ray Fazzio ’57

I was born, raised and educated in San Francisco prior to entering USNA. I was graduated from USNA and Commissioned as an Ensign in the USN on 7 June 1957. As a SWO, I held various roles including: Gunnery Officer, Navigator, CIC Officer and Electrical Officer. I transferred to the USN Reserves as a Lt. in 1961.
I was employed with Pacific Bell (Later, merged with AT&T) and retired in 1992. For the next 10 years I was a Certified Financial Planner.

I’ve been an active supporter of USNA, having chaired the SF 1957 Class reunion in 2010 with 145 classmates and their guests.

Treasurer: Brian Frack ’89

My time in the Navy included submarine service in Pearl Harbor on USS Olympia, followed by working in special programs on CINCPACFLT staff. After the Navy, I worked in management consulting, taught in an international school in Venezuela, and served as a pastor in a local church. I now work as a financial advisor with Goldman Sachs, volunteer with Scouts BSA, and served as the treasurer of Marin Young Life for several years. I live in northern San Rafael in Marin County with my wife, Sara, and three teenage sons, Sam, Josh, and David.

At USNA I was a Polevaulter on the Track & Field team and a proud member of 17th company. While on active duty I was a Surface Warfare Officer on USS RUSSELL (DDG 59), USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64), USS CHOSIN (CG 65).  I live in Marin with my 2 daughters and husband Sean. Cheriene Griffith '02

Cheriene Griffith ’02

Cheriene served as the Chapter Secretary from 2010 until 2021.

At USNA I participated in the Drum and Bugle Corps while at USNA in 10th company turned 27th company with a degree in General Science. I entered the SWO community serving on the USS WASP (LHD-1) after graduating for the Naval Academy in 2002. After leaving in 2005 I became the account executive for the USNA account for the annual fundraising and gift giving campaigns at the company IDC in Henderson NV. There I was a member of the Las Vegas USNA Alumni Chapter. Currently, I live in beautiful Santa Rosa CA where I am the Quality Assurance Supervisor at La Tortilla Factory. LTF is a family owned Food Manufacturer of Tortillas that is distributed throughout the country and even to the military. I also volunteer with the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito CA. I am a born and raised Northern California native and thrilled to be active in my “home” community. I am greatly looking forward to being more involved in the San Francisco Bay Area Alumni Association as Secretary. I am excited to connect all of the Bay Area together for future events!

Mark Lundstrom'86

Mark S. Lundstrom ’86

Mark served at the Chapter Treasurer from the beginning of time until 2021. He is currently a subcontract manager for Lockheed Martin supporting a USAF Satellite Program.  When he was on active duty, he was a SWO assigned to a DDG in Norfolk VA plus a shore tour as a program test officer for the STANDARD Missile air-to-air missile at Port Hueneme CA.  He has served as Treasure for the Chapter since 2003 and has been responsible for coordinating the Chapter’s annual Army-Navy game party among other duties.  He lives in Mountain View with his wife, Trina and son, Matthew.

Steve Hall '75

Steve Clark Hall ’75 (IT)

Steve is a retired career submariner, a native San Franciscan, moved back home in 1995. He has been involved as an alumni in a myriad of Wass. He served at the Western Region Trustee of the Nation Association from 2015 to 2021, and contuse to serve on teh Membership and Alumni Services Committee. He is a member of the Foundation’s “President’s Circle” since 2005 and travels to Annapolis frequently (6-10 times a year) to participate in various alumni/athletic excellence/class functions. He serves as a Blue & Gold Officer for the Eastern side of San Francisco. Through his active Foundation and Alumni Association participation, he has developed strong relationships with the leadership and staff of the National Association.
