Town Hall with Dr. Joseph J. Thomas, the Roger and Linda Tetrault Director of the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership

The U.S. Naval Academy Foundation is pleased to invite you to a virtual town hall on Thursday, 6 August at 12 p.m. PDT  with Dr. Joe Thomas, The Roger and Linda Tetrault Director of the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership. The Stockdale Center works to strengthen the leadership abilities of USNA faculty, coaches and staff, and to prepare the Brigade of Midshipmen to find solutions for many of the ethical challenges facing our nation today. Dr. Thomas will present on successes at the Stockdale Center and highlight specific programs such as the Boeing Leadership Innovation Lab, the Influence the Influencer program and the Lawrence Ethics Essay Award.

About Dr. Thomas:

Dr. Joseph J. Thomas is the Roger and Linda Tetrault Director of the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership and former Class of ’61 Chair and Distinguished Professor of Leadership Education and ADM Jay Johnson Research Professor in Leadership and Ethics. Dr. Thomas holds an M.S.Sc. from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, a M.S.S. from the U.S. Army War College, a Ph.D. from George Mason University and Certificate in Public Leadership from the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. As an active duty Marine his assignments included 1st and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, 26 Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Notre Dame, 6th Battalion Officer at the U.S. Naval Academy, and Head of Training Management and Evaluation/Senior Education Officer at Marine Corps Training and Education Command.

We are honored to have him lead this important and riveting discussion.

We expect Dr. Thomas’ remarks will last approximately 30 minutes with time allowed for questions afterwards.

Meet Admiral Buck

Vice Adm. Sean Buck, the 63rd Superintendent of the US Naval Academy, was scheduled for a West Coast Tour this July. We are sorry to have missed this special opportunity to have met Admiral Buck in person. But our Chapter will have an opportunity to meet the Superintendent in a Virtual town Hall with the alumni in the Western Region on Thursday, 30 July at 11:45 am to 13:00.

A big weekend in D1A college rugby. Four of the top 10 teams in the country will be playing in Berkeley on Saturday, March 7th. The first match of the day features #5 Navy as they take on #4 St. Mary’s College at 1 PM. Then #2 Cal will host #9 Army at 3:30 PM. There will be a Navy tailgater in the parking lot next to Witter Rugby field.
